It is festive music that can be listen to in this project especially created for the opening of the renovated emblematic Municipal Theatre Constantino Nery of Matosinhos, in 2008. Three international exponents of the tenor saxophone dialogue with the orchestra and explore exciting moments of collective and individual creativity. And as if the presence of a trio of such calibre were not enough, also the repertoire is entirely original and thought for the occasion. Joining its own compositions, signed by both directors of the orchestra, Pedro Guedes and Carlos Azevedo, the commissions to two main figures of the contemporary North-American composition: Ohad Talmor, already a regular contributor to the orchestra, and John Hollenbeck, who for the first time composes specifically for OJM.
