Following London, Copenhagen, Marseiile or Sao Paulo, it is now time for Matosinhos to host what will be the 13th edition of the International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research. Organised by INESC TEC and Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos, CMMR 2017 will gather more than a hundred researchers, composers and musicians from all over the world, under the theme Music Technology with Swing.

The programme of the symposium will include ten scientific sessions, four concerts - including the participation of Matosinhos String Quartet, Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos, several soloists and a mutichannel system of loudspeakers - and four lectures with guest speakers - Amílcar Cardoso (University of Coimbra, Portugal), Margaret Schedel (Stony Brook University, USA), Peter Vuust (Aarhus University, Copenhagen) and Carlos Guedes (New York University Abu Dhaabi, UAE), and it will take place at the Auditorium of the Matosinhos City Hall and CARA - Centro de Alto Rendimento Artístico (HIgh Performance Artistic Centre) that Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos promotes within the refurbishment project of Real Vinícola.

From 25 to 28 September 2017 Matosinhos will be the world centre of sound and music computing!

Apresentação do primeiro módulo de programação e provocação do projeto CARA no âmbito do 12.º encontro Música Viva 2015. Para dar corpo a este módulo, designado por CARA Ano Zero, foram encomendadas cinco peças originais a cinco compositores portugueses: Filipe Lopes, Gustavo Costa, Igor C. Silva, Rui Penha e Rui Dias. Esta apresentação foi ainda complementada com um fresco electroacústico de Miguel Negrão.
