Since 2010 OJM is also developing a project destined to establish a center for advanced artistic performance (CARA) in Matosinhos. This space is part of the Real Vinícola building rehabilitation project that also includes the Casa da Arquitectura (Architecture House) – a museum of Portuguese architecture – and it will be a city block open to the community; the works are under progress and will be completed during 2016.
This center, with an area of about 7500 square feet, will allow the materialization of projects in complementary areas and the development of networks with several national and international partners. It is CARA’s mission to promote the dialogue between art, science and technology, namely through multidisciplinary projects that aim at the research and development of solutions for the creation, fruition and dissemination of creative contents. CARA will be a high density working space with a shared program, based on a network of national and international partners.
In 2013 OJM carried out a project supported by the program ON2 O Novo Norte for the creation of a partnership network involving the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto / Systems and Computer Engineering Institute, Technology and Science, Casa da Música, the ZKM Karslruhe and WDR Cologne.
